    What is Watch D.O.G.S.?

Watch D.O.G.S. (Dads Of Great Students) is an innovative program of the National Center for Fathering focused on improving education in our nation's schools by using the influence of fathers and father-figures to provide a positive & active male role-model for students during their school day.

    Who Are Watch D.O.G.S.?

WatchDOGS are fathers, grandfathers, uncles, and other father-figures who volunteer for at least one day each year at an official WATCH D.O.G.S. school. During the day, WatchDOGS may read and work on flash cards with students, play at recess, eat lunch with students, watch the school entrances and hallways, assist with traffic flow and any other assigned activities where they actively engage with not only their own students, but other students as well. Prior to the day of their participation, WatchDOGS are given a schedule of their involvement. On their service day, they are to wear an official WATCH D.O.G.S t-shirt safely identifying them as WATCHDOGS.

𝗔 𝗧𝘆𝗽𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗗𝗮𝘆 𝗟𝗼𝗼𝗸𝘀 𝗟𝗶𝗸𝗲 𝗧𝗵𝗶𝘀:
You will arrive around 7am to check in at the office and then help with the carline by greeting and opening the doors for our students! After carline, you'll head to the library, where Mr. Orr will provide you a schedule. This will include working in your student's classroom while spending some quality time with your student and their peers! Finally, you and your student will have the opportunity to appear on the morning announcements! The time commitment is typically through lunch, so feel free to stay and have a meal with your student!
This is an amazing opportunity to be involved with your student, the community and to help serve as an excellent role model for all students at Midway Elementary!
We're looking forward to seeing more WATCH DOGS in the car lines!
