What is Jazz Band?

Jazz band is a 7th and 8th grade performing ensemble that is composed of saxophones, trumpets, trombones, and a rhythm section (guitar, bass, and drum set). 

This ensemble will perform and study music in the styles of jazz, funk, pop, and blues.

The jazz band will meet weekly and have multiple performances throughout the school year.
More specifically, Jazz Band will meet on Wednesday mornings and is open to 7th and 8th grade students after an audition.
Jazz Band will start up in September 2024. 

Audition Information: 

Audition for Saxophone, Trumpet, and Trombone will be the F, Bb, Eb, and Ab Scale and Arpeggios and Chromatic Scale.

Audition for piano will be a prepared musical selection that best shows your ability at the instrument in addition to the F, Bb, Eb, and Ab scale and arpeggio.
