• This is DeSana's first year implementing Sources Of Strength , and we are so excited!

Sources of Strength is a group of teacher-nominated Peer Leaders across all three grade levels and several Adult Advisors. The goal of the group is to positively influence peer social norms and encourage students to individually assess and develop strengths in their own life. Our Peer Leaders are mentored by Adult Advisors and together lead school-wide campaigns (e.g. Thankfulness Challenge, What Helps Me, Trusted Adults, We Belong, etc.) to help students spread messages of hope, resiliency and learn to identify and build their sources of strength.

The "Wheel of Strength" is at the core of Sources messaging and includes eight protective factors which are family support, positive friends, mentors, healthy activities, generosity, spirituality, medical access, and mental health.

DeSana's Sources of Strength  campaign will begin on Thursday, February 17th. Please encourage your student to stop by the Commons that morning to meet the Peer Leaders and participate in a free school-wide raffle.

If you have specific questions, please reach out to 7th grade counselor Aimee Tarver at f39466@forsyth.k12.ga.us or 770-667-2591 ext. 491007.
