    Student Absence
In an effort to save paper this year we are asking parents to email attendance notes whenever possible. You can scan medical excuses and then email them. A note must be submitted within five (5) school days for the students absence to be excused.Notes can be emailed to Kelley Lawler. If emailing is not possible you may still send in a written note or fax (678-965-5053). All attendance notes must contain the students name, the date(s) of absence(s), and the reason for the absence.  The principal may require students to present appropriate medical or other documentation upon return to school for the purpose of validating that absences are excused.

In case of extended illness, hospitalization or injury, the parent should apply for hospital homebound service.  Hospital homebound service should be applied for immediately when absences of ten (10) days or more are anticipated for the student.

    Consequences
If a student has excessive absences, early check-outs, and / or late check-ins, the student and / or the parent may be referred to the School Social Worker, Juvenile Court, State Court, and / or Department of Family and Children Services.  A parent / guardian who violates the compulsory education law shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof, shall be subject to a fine not less than $25.00 and not greater than $100.00, imprisonment not to exceed 30 days, community service, or any combination of such penalties at the discretion of the court having jurisdiction.  Each day’s absence from school is considered a violation.

A student must be in attendance a minimum of 50% of the school day to participate in any athletic, extra-curricular, or school related function, including field trips and club activities.
Then policy is in accordance with the GHSA attendance requirement.

Regular attendance is essential to success in school. As permitted under the Georgia compulsory education law and Forsyth County Board of Education policy, students may be excused for the following reasons:

    1. Personal illness or attendance in school that endangers a student’s health or the health of others.
    2. A serious illness or death in a student’s immediate family necessitating absence from school.
    3. A court order or an order by a governmental agency, including pre-induction physical examinations for service in the armed forces, mandating absence from school.
    4. The observance of religious holidays, necessitating absence from school.
    5. Conditions rendering attendance impossible or hazardous to student health or safety.

Drivers' Licenses and Proof of School Enrollment

The Department of Driver Services has updated their list of acceptable required documents to obtain a Learner’s Permit or Driver’s License.  Please see the NEW list below and note that you are able to print a student transcript or the most recent report card by logging into your parent or student campus portal account and selecting Documents from the menu.  From here you can select Report Card or Transcript to print a copy of the most recent document.  Please note that students will still need a copy of the ADAP (the Alcohol & Drug Awareness completion certificate) for their Driver’s License not their Learner’s Permit.  Students will need to come to the attendance office to obtain the ADAP certificate if they took Health in person at Lambert High School.  If they took Health online they will need to contact Forsyth Virtual or Georgia Virtual for their ADAP.  Lambert does not have access to certificates completed online.  If your student took Health in person at another school they will need to contact that school for their ADAP.
