Description
Application
Directed Study/ Office Aid
January 28th, 2025 Students who participate in Directed Study will work in either the front office, counseling office, attendance office, or media center to support the day-to-day operations of the school. Students need to be comfortable speaking to parents, teachers, and their peers. They also need to be highly motivated and have a strong work ethic. Directed study is open to 11th and 12th grade students only, and students must complete an application to be considered for directed study.
Please see Ms. Catherine Stemple with any questions. cstemple@forsyth.k12.ga.us
Peer Facilitator
January 28th, 2025
Looking for a chance to make a real difference? Become a Peer Facilitator!
A Peer Facilitator is an 11th or 12th-grade student with a passion for helping others and making a positive impact. As a Peer Facilitator, you’ll work directly with students in specialized instruction classrooms, assisting those with learning differences to navigate their classes with confidence and support. You’ll be a role model, showing them what great behavior looks like—and a friend, sharing conversations, and building connections that make a lasting impact.
Beyond just helping in the classroom, you'll complete assignments throughout the term (just a weekly check-in) and demonstrate your skills in a midterm and final exam for the course (can be exempt with an A going into the exams).
This isn’t just a role; it’s an opportunity to grow, inspire, and create meaningful change in the lives of others.
Please contact Ms. Amy Bowles with any questions. abowles@forsyth.k12.ga.us
AP Capstone
January 28th, 2025 AP Capstone is a 2-year program that provides the opportunity for students to develop critical thinking, research, and communication skills and culminates with an independent research project. Students accepted into the program will complete two AP courses, AP Seminar and AP Research. Students who earn scores of 3 or higher in both of the AP Capstone courses and on four additional AP Exams of their choosing will receive the AP Capstone Diploma. Because the AP Capstone program is reserved for a limited number of students, it is essential we choose students who have a strong work ethic, are able to meet deadlines and work in a team. You will be required to make frequent presentations and participate regularly in class discussions. As a junior, you will also be required to take AP Lang. Applications will be given to qualified students, but if you do not receive one or have questions please see Dr. Rebecca Britten. rbritten@forsyth.k12.ga.us
AP Capstone Application Internship Forsyth
(Work Based Learning)January 30th, 2025
Internship Forsyth is a structured experience which connects classroom learning to an engaging job opportunity. Internship can be paid or unpaid. Students are allowed to leave the school campus to intern with local businesses, earning course credit for the experience. Please contact Ms. Marelle Bowers with questions. sbowers@forsyth.k12.ga.us
