• Welcome to the ELA Department at OMS

Literacy is the foundation upon which everything is built.  Here at OMS, our mission is to help children hone their reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills, sparking critical thinking and creativity that will help prepare them for everything they want to build in their future.  Forsyth County Schools believes that literacy is the tool that allows us to interact with our world, and our role is to guide our students as they explore all the nuances of their language toolbox.

In addition to their professional expertise, teachers have their own set of tools to wield as they guide their students to stronger literacy skills.  These county-approved programs each have their own targeted objectives that bolster foundational skills and help teachers individualize instruction, maximizing growth and learning.
