    • Parent Information:
    “What scares you?”

Parents of middle schoolers think this is a question more appropriate to elementary students, especially when the bravado and know it all attitude of the middle schooler in your home portrays a fearless person. Research indicates that a child’s greatest fear is the loss of a parent.  This may be a fear of losing a parent through death, but also occurs when a parent is absent from the home for extended periods of time, when a parent is seriously ill, or when parents are divorcing.  Reassurance of your love and protection are welcomed at any age.  Bravado is nearly always an act.  You may want to discuss your family’s safety plans regarding a natural disaster.
