Tom Tucker
Tom Tucker is the Director of Bands at Forsyth Central High School in Cumming, GA. During his tenure, the Forsyth Central Marching Band has won numerous competitions and awards. The band made finals at the Bands of America Atlanta Super Regional in 2008-2010. The Forsyth Central Drumline has been a Scholastic World Finalist from seven times at the WGI World Championships. The group was also a Scholastic Open Finalist prior to that. Tom currently serves on the WGI Percussion Advisory Board. Tom has also worded as the Front Ensemble Co-Arranger and Percussion Consultant for the 2009-10 Colts Drum and Bugle Corps from Dubuque, IA and is an alumni of the Corps.
Tom graduated from the University of North Alabama with a degree in Music Education. He went on to complete his Masters degree through Lesley University in Educational Technology. Along with his work at Forsyth Central, Tom is in demand as an arranger, judge, consultant, and clinician for percussion programs in the Atlanta area and is an Education Artist for Promark Sticks and Mallets, Evans Drumheads and Pearl Drums/Adams Musical Instruments.
Tom resides in Canton, GA, with his beautiful wife, Heather, and his son, Brant.
Dan Grass
Dan Grass, a graduate from the University of Memphis and Kennesaw State University, originally comes from east Tennessee. He began his teaching career in Union County North Carolina, which led him to come to Forsyth Central High School, where he has been for 4 years. Dan is a member of Phi Mu Alpha professional music fraternity, and has participated as staff member of Music City Drum and Bugle Corps, as well as other non-profit organizations.
Mr. Grass currently teaches Intermediate, Advanced, and Mastery wind classes at Central. He is also the Colorguard sponsor along with visual designer for the Flash of Crimson Marching band.
Dan currently lives in Alpharetta, GA with his wife Elizabeth and dog Hazel.
