Since coming to Denmark, she has been able to make a strong visual presence in the program, build student and community connections to the arts, as well as expand the media arts program for the students at DHS. Her goal is to make this a distinguished art program where students flourish both confidently and artistically, reaching all students who attempt the arts. Ms. Wood is passionate about helping others. With the help of her students, Ms. Wood developed the first volume of DHS Healing through the Arts Interactive Coloring book. Coloring books were donated to the community, special needs programs, and anyone who needed healing through the Arts. Together, students also created portraits and made donations for orphans from other countries through the Memory Project. Her philosophy is to reach the whole learner, developing mental health and balance through art. She believes that the arts are a valuable tool when building well-rounded learners. With her diverse background in art, strength in technology, and passion for creativity, she can teach with both college and career in mind for this program. Ms. Wood is excited about being an artist and educator for the Dane Nation.

She has exhibited and sold her art at the CFUMC Festival of the Arts and has also sold commissioned work. Ms. Jumper has been creating art since she was very young. As a high school art student, she found comfort in having a creative outlet that helped her overcome difficult situations by learning how to express and communicate her ideas and feelings through the art-making process. She loves that she is now able to share in your child’s art experience and to be a part of the Dane Nation!
