The Mathematics program at South Forsyth Middle School is challenging and rigorous at each level that is offered. Teachers follow the Georgia Standards of Excellence for Mathematics, as well as county guidelines. In 8th grade, there are three different levels of math. 

On Level Math: This is the standard course of study for 8^th Grade students. Students will master all Grade 8 Georgia Standards of Excellence.  

Algebra: Concepts and Connections: This is the first course in a sequence of three high school courses designed to ensure career and college readiness. Students will master the Algebra: Concepts and Connections Georgia Standards of Excellence. The expected path for these students is to take Geometry: Concepts and Connections Honors as freshmen.  

Accelerated Algebra/Geometry A: This course is the first in a sequence of mathematics courses designed to ensure that students are prepared to take higher‐level mathematics courses during their high school career, including Advanced Placement Calculus AB, Advanced Placement Calculus BC, and Advanced Placement Statistics. The course consists of all Algebra GSE and the first semester of Geometry course standards.
