Spanish is a 9-week language course                                                                        

6th and 7th grade: Introduction to Spanish

This course focuses on the introduction of communicative competence in the target language and understanding of the culture(s) of the people who speak it. 

Knowledge will be demonstrated through various activities, projects, assessments, pair. group work, games that require the use of the language, and presentations. By the end, students will exhibit Novice-Low level proficiency in speaking, listening, and reading.

8th Grade: Spanish Culture

In this course, students will acquire understanding and knowledge of Hispanic cultures through country studies, current events, celebrations, history, tourism/travel, and traditions. By the end of the course, students will identify examples of the language and cultures as well as to demonstrate awareness of perspectives, practices, and products of the Spanish culture.
