•  DLI Media Literacy is a DLI course in middle school offered in the first semester.  In this course, students will study themes such as Global Challenges, Science and Technology, and Contemporary Life.  They will read mostly nonfiction articles in order to identify the main idea, supporting details, and the author's purpose.  Students will also learn to discuss data from infographics and express their own point of views on various issues.  An emphasis on speaking with fluency and accuracy will be placed by applying grammatical knowledge acquired in DLI Advanced Language and Literacy through group discussions on related issues.  Students will take DLI Media Literacy first semester and will then take DLI Culture and History in the second semester.  These two courses cover all six Advanced Placement (AP) themes.   Together, they prepare students for the AP Spanish Language and Culture Exam, which students will take in tenth grade.  Based on the results of the AP Spanish Language and Culture Exam, students can earn credit for college.
