My name is Dianne Angley and I look forward to another great year in first grade at Brookwood! I have taught preschool through 2nd grade, but most of my teaching experience is in first grade. I am one of the original teachers who opened Brookwood so this school holds a very special place in my heart! This will be my 18th year teaching in Forsyth County Schools and my 24th year teaching in public education. I strive to build a positive classroom environment where students feel safe so they can thrive, learn, and grow. It is my goal to foster a strong home-school relationship with my Brookwood families. I can't wait to meet all of you and work with you and your child this 2024-2025 school year!

Hi! My name is Caroline Dershimer and I am ecstatic to start my third year of teaching in first grade at Brookwood Elementary. I graduated from the University of West Georgia with a bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education and a reading endorsement. Committed to furthering my education and enhancing my teaching skills, I continued my studies at West Georgia, where I recently graduated with a master's degree this spring. I have been a part of the Forsyth County community my entire life and I am blessed to have the opportunity to teach in the same school district. I firmly believe that every child has potential, and it is my duty to provide them with a positive learning environment where they can thrive and grow. Building strong, loving, and meaningful relationships with my students is at the core of my teaching philosophy. I look forward to another year filled with fun, learning, and memorable moments. Hi! My name is Allyn Elliott and this will be my 11th year with Forsyth County Schools and my 1st year as a 1st grade teacher! I could not be more excited to be teaching 1st grade and going back to school for my Masters in Education! I graduated from the Terry College of Business at University of Georgia with a Marketing degree, so I love those Georgia Bulldogs! I am married with 3 kids, 1 daughter and 2 boys! My daughter is in college and will be a nurse assistant soon! Both of my boys are very active in sports, football and baseball, so we stay very busy enjoying that. I love spending time with family, exercising, shopping and the beach. My favorite vacation spot is Amelia Island! I’m so excited for a fantastic first year and making memories. I can’t wait to meet all of you!

Mrs. McCavitt is entering her 23rd year of teaching. She graduated from Marshall University with a bachelor's degree in Education and is certified to teach the alternate curriculum in Georgia. She has taught 5th grade general education, K-5 in the Mild Intellectual Disability classroom, and is starting her 6th year as the Autism teacher at Brookwood. Mrs. McCavitt is thrilled to teach in a classroom where she can begin to teach at the level where each child is. She loves teaching and exploring replacement behaviors and finding ways for all of her students to be the best version of themselves. Her experience at Brookwood has been some of the best years in her teaching career, and she looks forward to having another amazing year with her wonderful, talented, fun, and sweet students! 

Hi all! I am Kristyn Wakely, and I am excited to work with your children at Brookwood Elementary! This will be my third year as a first grade teacher at BES, and I absolutely love this school. I have experience teaching in all grades K-4. I began my teaching career in Charlottesville, Virginia, 17 years ago. Ever since, I have been passionate about maximizing individual student performance and instilling a sense of self-worth among all students. I will encourage each student to learn at their highest level of excellence, while having fun!!! I am married to a wonderful husband, with a daughter in third grade and a son in first grade.
