Jessica Davis

Hi there! My name is Jessica Davis and I could not be more thrilled for another great year in first grade!
 
I grew up in Cumming and attended school in Forsyth County all throughout my early, middle, and high school years. I graduated from the University of North Georgia with a dual bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education and Special Education along with a reading endorsement.
 
My husband and I have a son, Hudson Drew, and an English Cream Golden Retriever, Duke. During our spare time we enjoy going on walks and spending time with friends and family.
 
My absolute favorite thing about teaching is getting to build close relationships with each of my students and providing them with love and support to ensure that they are successful in their learning journey.

Hello, Nighthawks!

I am thrilled to be a part of the 1st grade team at New Hope Elementary! I am a Forsyth County Native and received my K-12 education here, graduating from South Forsyth High School. I graduated from the University of Georgia in 2023 with a bachelor’s degree in Human Development and Family Science. I then went on to receive a master’s degree in Elementary Education from Western Governors University in January 2025.

When I’m not in the classroom, I enjoy reading, exercising, traveling, spending time with family and friends, and cheering on the Georgia Bulldogs!

My passion is nurturing children and helping them grow into confident learners. I am excited to build strong relationships with your children and support them as they blossom as learners this year!

Tabitha Lockett

Hello, Nighthawks! My name is Tabitha Lockett, and I am excited to be your First Grade teacher here at New Hope!
 
I graduated from the University of West Georgia with a bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education. I have been a teacher in Forsyth County since 2013 where I have taught kindergarten and first grade.
 
I absolutely love First Grade, as it is a very fun and exciting place to be! When I am not at school, I enjoy spending time playing outside with my husband, daughter, and two sons.
 
Teaching has always been my passion, and I aim to reach the hearts of each and every student as well as help them to reach their full potential and become lifelong learners.
 
I hope that you have all enjoyed your summer creating memories with family and friends! I look forward to meeting and working with my amazing students and their families, and to making this the best school year yet!

Emily Loo

Hi, Nighthawks! I am so excited for another fun year in first grade! I have my bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from the University of Georgia (GO DAWGS!). I also earned my master's in Elementary Education from Piedmont University. I taught second grade for 9 years at Big Creek before having the amazing opportunity to help open New Hope in 2022!
 
When I'm not at school, I love spending time with my husband, Patrick, our daughter, Hadley, and our two dogs, Mack and Ruby. I also love to read (preferably on the beach!), cook, and play trivia with friends. We watch a lot of Georgia football and Braves baseball at our house!
 
First grade is a year of fun, learning, and amazing growth. I am looking forward to building a supportive community of learners in our classroom this year!!

Susanne Marshall

Hello, Nighthawks! My name is Susanne Marshall and I am so excited to be a part of the First Grade team at New Hope Elementary.

I was born and raised in Roanoke, Virginia.  I earned my bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Radford University.  My husband, Matt and I moved to Georgia in 2008.  We have three children, Bryce, Blake and Madison.  We also have two Goldendoodles, Tucker and Murphy. 

We love spending time together at the beach or lake, going to Atlanta Braves games and watching UNC sports.

I am looking forward to building relationships with students and families and creating an amazing community of Nighthawks!

Emma Southerland

Hello! My name is Emma Southerland, and I am so excited to meet my 1st grade New Hope Nighthawks!
 
I graduated from the University of North Georgia in 2024 with a degree in Elementary and Special Education along with a reading endorsement. I’m currently in graduate school attaining my Master’s degree and love to continue learning about how to better support my students.
 
I’m originally from Forsyth County and have attended Forsyth County Schools for all grades Kindergarten through High School. My favorite and most important job as a teacher is to create a space where all students feel loved, supported, and successful. I look forward to building relationships with my students and having an amazing year full of learning and laughter!

Madison West

Hi, there! I'm Madison West and am so excited to be teaching 1st grade here at New Hope Elementary! 

I graduated from Georgia College with a degree in Early Childhood Education in 2019.  

When I am not teaching, I love spending time with family and friends, going to the beach or lake, and playing with my dog, Norman.

Laura Williams

Hi! I'm Laura Williams, and I’m so excited to be a part of the first grade team at New Hope.

I have a bachelor's and master's degree in Early Childhood/Elementary Education from Charleston Southern University. I am also National Board certified.  

I'm originally from Charleston, SC, but my family has loved lived in Cumming. We love going back to the coast to visit though! My husband (Hobie) and I have two boys, Cain and Russell, along with a black lab (Cooper). I enjoy spending time with family and friends, reading, playing board games and cheering for the Clemson Tigers and Atlanta Braves!

I love being a Nighthawk and can’t wait to learn together!
