Mrs. Heidi Taht (Britz)

I am thrilled to be returning to the Sharon speech team for another year!  I received my undergraduate and graduate degrees from the University of Central Florida (go Knights!) and bring more than 20 years of experience as a speech language pathologist (speech therapist) with me. I enjoy working with children who have  a variety of speech and language disorders, and I have a special place in my heart for working with students with social language impairments and autism spectrum disorders.  I am a native of Florida, but came to Georgia twenty years ago by way of Southern California.  I enjoy hiking in the mountains, kayaking and spending time with my husband, friends and family, including our four adult children, 2 dogs and a cat!

I am so excited to be part of the speech team at Sharon Elementary for the 13th year!  Our team is the BEST ever!!

I began my education at the University of Georgia where I graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders. After graduation, I attended the University of Virginia in Charlottesville and earned a Master of Education degree in Speech-Language Pathology. I then went on to earn my Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language Hearing Association. My husband, Shawn, and I just celebrated our 26th wedding anniversary. We have been blessed with three wonderful children, who all attended Sharon Elementary for their entire elementary school careers.  Kyle, our oldest, graduated this past spring as an Industrial Engineer from Georgia Tech and has joined the workforce!!  Jackson, our middle son,  is entering  his 3rd year at UGA (Go DAWGS!!) and is starting his major classes in the Terry College of Business for Management Information Systems.  Our youngest, Rebecca,  is a Junior in high school and loves working at Chick-fil-A when not busy with school work.

Your children are a joy to work with everyday.  I enjoy partnering with parents and teachers to help each child be the best they can be!
