Did you know??? More to learn about credits!

👉If a middle school student takes and passes a high school credit course, and it is part of their school schedule, they must accept the credit. They cannot opt out, even if it is a low grade.

    • We have recently learned that some colleges count these grades in their Dual Enrollment GPA Core Credit Calculation. This is another reminder to our 8th graders about why grades are so important!

👉If an 8th grade student fails a high school credit course, and it is part of their school schedule, on the end of year transcript the course is listed as a middle school course so it doesn't get reported to HOPE.

👉The district has a partnership with several language schools in the area, Tamil School being one example. At these language schools, students work year-round and their school administration notifies our district office annually of students who have earned language credit. Forsyth County then awards 1.0 language credit with a grade of P. This does not factor into the students GPA or count towards HOPE. This possible credit is separate of the new student-parent pay regulations established starting with the 25-26 school year. If a parent reaches out with questions regarding the partnership with language schools, please direct them to Melanie Dunn, World Language Content Specialist, mdunn@forsyth.k12.ga.us
