Information Regarding the Technology Competition:
-
The registration asks for an advisor. Who should my advisor be?
The advisor should be the person who is providing the most assistance or feedback to the participant in the competition. It could be a parent, older brother/sister, family friend, a coach at a business that teaches coding, teachers, or even the Educational Technology Coach at your child's school. Please remember the advisor can provide feedback on a student's project, but all the work should be completed by the student.
-
Which category should I enter my project in?
When thinking about the category for your project, please take time to read the information on the GASTC Category Page. Read over the descriptions, rubrics, and watch the sample exemplars to determine which category best fits the project you will create, or have created. This will give you the best opportunity to advance to the state level competition. Feel free to reach out to Mr. Forlenza with questions regarding category placement.
-
I want to work with a partner. Is that allowed?
Yes! Two students may collaborate on a project to enter into the competition. Please be advised that the project is entered into the grade level category of the oldest student. For example, if Student A is a 3rd grader working with Student B who is a 5th grader, the project would be entered into the 5-6 grade category. If you have any questions regarding this policy, please reach out to Mr. Forlenza!
