COURSE DESCRIPTION
Yearbook is a year-long 8th grade course designed to curate the yearbook for the school year. If you are interested in applying for the Yearbook Staff, please select it as an elective option in course registration. Applications will be released and selected at the end of the school year.
The yearbook course has been designed to provide students with journalism skills and the ability to apply those skills to the actual production of the yearbook.
Units of study include teamwork, responsibility, brainstorming, content, coverage, concept, reporting, writing, headlines, captions, editing, photography, typography, design, graphics, finances, yearbook campaigns, advertising and distribution.
The work done by the yearbook staff is a real-world experience that results in the current volume of our school’s yearbook. The publication strives to maintain a tradition of excellence in which the school and the community can take pride.
Mastery of the goals and objectives educate staff members in all areas of publication production. As a result, students should be able to pursue journalism with a strong background either in their advanced studies or in a career.
In addition, as a part of the "LMTV" crew, you will broadcast announcements and important news updates to the school year round!
