CLEATS: Some players ask if we do a team spike - we do not. Our rules regarding spikes are as follows:
-They need to be a school color (black, royal blue, white or gray - any of those are fine)
NO MIDTOPS OR HIGH TOPS ALLOWED. All cleats must be a low top. Mids and highs are limited in range of motion and the risk of knee injuries of baseball players in mids and highs are prevalent.
IF a player makes the program, here is what we provide: Uniforms (Jerseys and Game pants), Hats, sweatshirt, 2 practice tops, belts, socks for games and practice, team helmets, catchers gear, backpacks for travel. We also provide pre game meals for all school days and transportation for all games on school days.
What we DO NOT provide: Practice pants (must be gray, can't be the team issued game pants, sleeves (cold gear - brand does not matter but they need 1 royal blue and 1 black set of sleeves), accesories such as batting gloves, bats, gloves.
2025 Tryouts will begin on Jan 27th at War Eagle Field. Please dress appropriately for the elements - FULL baseball attire is required: Hat, baseball pants, cap and spikes are needed along with a pair of turf or gym shoes for the hitting facility. YOU MUST have a current physical on file in DRAGONFLY with the school to tryout and all players must have passed at least 5 out of 7 classes to be eligible. Physicals must be turned in to the main office and not directly to Coach Bayer.
The 2025 season will be the 15th season the NHSA and GHSA mandates that -3 BBCOR certified bats must be used. Players will not be allowed to use BESR bats at try-outs or a -5.... if you have questions regarding tryouts or the bat standards please see Coach Bayer in the Blue Gym or his classroom 505 in the Blue Gym Lobby.
